Which fairy tale character would you like to make a sculpture of?
Is there something you would rather make a picture or sculpture of?
Charlotte Gyllenhammar
Charlotte Gyllenhammar is one of Sweden’s most prominent artists and is especially known for her sculptures. Her public breakthrough came in 1993 with the monumental work Dö för dig (Die for You), a massive oak tree hanging upside down in central Stockholm. In her installations, sculptures, photographs, and films, Gyllenhammar often explores themes related to identity and existence, conveying a sense of vulnerability and fragmentation. She frequently returns to recurring motifs in her works to shift scales or perspectives, such as a child dressed in a snowsuit resembling protective armor or a woman weighed down by layers of skirts and furs.
