n this micro-lesson, we walk around Princess Estelle Sculpture Park in Stockholm and explore sculptures outdoors. Rebecka shares 10 tips for getting more out of your encounter with a sculpture. Along the way, she also explains a number of useful art terms.

The lesson is divided into two parts: Part 1 (Tips 1–5) and Part 2 (Tips 6–10).

The tips are:

  1. Walk around the sculpture

  2. Listen to yourself: What do you feel and think?

  3. Check the size

  4. Explore the material

  5. Think about the form (abstract or figurative?)

  6. Notice the texture (the surface)

  7. Understand the colour

  8. Does it fit the location?

  9. Interpret the sculpture

  10. Read about the context
